118 Years Paid Leave.

The SUN Sept: 10th 2011 Page 5

A Police Force's officers and civilian staff have taken 118 Years off work for stress-related illness since 2006. Just over 600 members of Suffolk Police racked up absences for conditions such as depression, exhaustion, insomnia or substance dependency. One civilian worker is still off after 1,500 days.

The figures, from a freedom of information request,Suffolk Police Federation chairman Matt Gould said.He added: "Being a police officer is one of the most stressful jobs. For civilian staff, uncertainty over the future and budget cuts is having an impact." END REPORT

PIF: The chair of the Suffolk Police Federation (Police Protection) is always going to defend the actions of his members regardless. One observation on this defence by Mr. Gould how did the civilian that has been on paid leave for 1500 days or any of the other absentee's know about the changes being made since the new Government took over from the incompetent Labour mismanagement, who incidentally allowed the police to increase  it's abusive of  power without check. I will need to look deeper into this obvious questionable excess of absenteeism and will publish the findings.
